Eastbourne Residential Centre

Eastbourne Residential Centre

The aim of Eastbourne & Wealden YMCA is to support local young people that find themselves in a homeless position. At the Residential Centre in Old Town we work with 17 young people. Each will be assigned a Key Worker who will work along side the young person helping them to develop the life skills and social skills that are required to move on to more independent living. Each young person can stay at the Centre for up to two years if necessary before moving on. All our residents are working towards being engaged in some kind of education, training or employment. Old Town Residential Centre accommodates 17 young people, boys and girls aged between 16 and 25 years old. All referrals from Local Council. This Centre offers supported accommodation and has a very high success rate with over 40 young people moving on to more independent living in the last three years Staff: Steve Puttock-Chief Executive, Angus Wingfield-Housing Manager & Inner Journey Project co-ordinator, Mark Simmons-Senior Support Worker, Mel Bevan-Support Worker, Sam Dean-Support Worker, Kathy Casey-administrator, Vanessa Ring-PA to CEO.
